Sasha Litvintseva & Isabel Mallet. The Stability of the System

Inspired by Italo Calvino's book "Cosmicomics", in which an einzelliges being talks about the genesis of the cosmos, the movie begins with a point. As a geometric object without any extension, it longs for a multidimensional existence, wants to explore space and time. So begins spiral begins to spread. Part 2 shows shots of the lunar landscape of Lanzarote. Monochrome lava fields seem dead, all life to absorb glittering light. No place for individual subjectivity. Litvintseva and Mallet see him and the molten rock as an expression of the creative power of volcanic eruptions, as well as the nature as matter in perpetual change. One could take Geology as a movie in slow motion and landscape as a snapshot and track their own creation. Mallets scoring commented on the still life-like wildlife. At some point the sounds are transferred to the landscape and the perception tilts and means to listen to nature.
